As our first store, Kapa‘a represents the “seed of the papaya.” This is where it all began for us 11 years ago: a community based store where Kaua‘i shops for delicious, organic food and high-quality health and beauty aids. I think you’ll see and feel the aloha spirit as you walk through the doors. You’ll find aisles of grocery items, over 300 different bulk items, full lines of refrigerated and frozen products and organic beer and wine. If you don’t see what you are looking for, ask one of our friendly staff. They are always there to help you find what you desire by searching a new shipment, finding out when a product is coming in, or assisting you in placing a special order. You can get directions here.
The heart of Papaya’s must be the Produce Section. Fresh, organic, locally sourced produce is the backbone of healthy living. We support over 50 local farmers on Kaua`i, and many more from the other islands. We also fly in organic produce to satisfy any produce cravings you may have for items that can not be grown here or are just not available.
Our knowledgeable Health & Beauty Aid (also known as “HABA”) employees are always on hand to answer your supplement and beauty care questions and can help you find the best product for your individual needs because of our great selection. Due to its size, the Kapa’a’s HABA department is able to carry a larger selection of supplements in addition to more economical lines, such as Now & Solgar, as well as bulk soaps & hair products.
The flyer items (as they are known) are always a hit! These are monthly sale items that we are able to offer at an incredibly low price.
The Café has been an integral and well loved section of Papaya’s that is always changing to keep up with food trends, education, and the needs of the community.
